Ready to try one of the best chocolate chip cookies recipes? Nice and chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Be sure to mix in the flour slowly to make sure you get your batter to a good consistency (you don’t want it to be too thick). Also, watch your cookies as they bake. At about the 5 minute mark, take a peek and see how they are doing. Mine are usually ready in about 8 minutes (in my convection oven).
I have tried dozens of chocolate chip cookie recipes and this one is by far my favorite! You can add walnuts to the batter too for an extra crunch.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter (1 stick), softened
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda (mixed in warm water)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 - 1 1/2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons chia seeds
- 3/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips (Ghirardelli)
Method
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2
Mix together the butter and sugar until it is nice and smooth. Add in the egg, vanilla, baking soda and salt. Slowly mix in the flour, chocolate chips and chia seeds. Stir until batter is nice and smooth.
Step 3
Scoop spoonfuls (about 2 inches apart) on baking sheet.
Step 4
Bake cookies for 8-10 minutes. Remove from oven, and let cool on baking sheet 1 to 2 minutes. Making chocolate chip cookies has never been easier!
